Accomplishments
Highlights of our recent projects successfully completed- .Suri Foundation provided 100 oxygen stretchers to Government Hospitals in Nellore District last month. Hospitals are in dire need of ICU equipment, masks, stretchers, food, and water supplies
- .Suri Foundation helped rural and most affected daily wage labor population. Ever since the surge of second wave in March, we have been providing food, Covid kits, and groceries. So far, we helped more than 400 families battle the virus, providing daily needs so they can quarantine home without spreading the virus
- .Suri Foundation is responding to COVID-19 both locally and globally
- .Suri Foundation is part of The Howard County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) and designed a website (www.hococoad.org) to create a channel for all organizations to coordinate disaster response
- .Suri Foundation led a fabric mask sewing initiative in Howard County, Maryland and donated more than 10000 masks to the homeless during the pandemic
- .Current on-going projects: Toilets constructed in 7 remote villages since 2011 in Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh. Thousands of lives changed. Solving sanitation challenges in remote and hard to reach villages one place at at a time
- .Built 1st waterless urinals for boys in 2019 – completely eco-friendly and water less solution for the first time in a public school in Tada, Andhra Pradesh, India
- .Conducted dental screenings and provided free dental correction services for 100 girls from low-income families in 2019
- .Built water tank, bore with pipes in 2018 for a village in Tada for 500 girls
- 2016 & 2017 – Water tanks with filtration constructed in villages near Vishakhpatnam, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu to provide usable and clean drinking water
- .Nepal Earthquake relief 2015 – Suri Foundation team travelled personally to Nepal and delivered a truck load of blankets, essential food items and water to earthquake victims directly. Difficult journey in rough terrain and involved coordination with local organization to transport essential items
- .Cyclone HudHud relief 2014 – Suri Foundation team traveled personally to very remote villages near Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh and helped cyclone affected people. We provided dal, rice, water, bread, oil, sugar, salt, and other critical food supplies to victims directly. Thanks to local grocery stores that partnered with our team to provide these supplies at a reasonable cost. Suri Foundation was the 1st team to reach these places to help
- .Toilets constructed in 2013 for 5 public schools in Nellore, Adilabad, Bangalore to help schools that lack basic toilet facilities. This effort stopped open defecation in those places. Hundreds of students impacted
- .Dental, Medical, and Hygiene camps since 2011 – Suri Foundation’s mission is to solve the sanitation problems the poor are facing in India. Key success criteria to this mission is education and awareness. We partnered with Pratigya Foundation, Youth4Development, Hope for Humanity, and other non-profit organizations in India and have been working relentlessly to create awareness on hygiene and proper use of toilets and waste management
